Defects

Defects

normal day-to-day end-product of the compressed organization

Defects are a normal day-to-day end-result of compressed organizations. They surface in end-products in manufacturing, service organizations (example: lost customers), new business development, overall, all areas of the enterprise. Dr. Ivanov discovered that when Organization's Work Structure is suppressed, combined with the lack of accountability, this mixture produces defects by design (2013 paper on defects). In this paper, Dr. Ivanov develops the framework for detecting organizational structures prone to producing defective products and services to eliminate most defects from the work of the organization. Needless to say, defects are expensive to impossible to fix after-the-fact, considering that compressed structures keep on introducing new defects into the pipeline.
